What I Like Wednesday: Elizabeth
I realized recently that a lot of the blogs that I follow tend to fall into categories that would also describe me in some form or another. You know what I mean? I am easily drawn into the blogs of people who are moms, about to be moms or want to be moms because this is one of my biggest roles. I get roped right in by people who are creative or artistic, because I have a little of that but I want a lot more. I also love people who like photography and are somewhere between “just starting to learn about it” and “really darn good at it,” because I’m somewhere in there too.
This week I got a sweet comment on my personal blog from Elizabeth, a reader who I don’t think I’ve seen before, so I went over to her blog to say hi. And I got blown away. I fell headfirst into her blog and barely got out.
Her blog is full of fun and vintage images that are great compliments to her stories.
When you get a little further into her blog, you discover that some of the pictures actually are hers, they’ve just been edited to give that funky vintage vibe.
And then you realize that not only are they her pictures, but pictures of things that she made!! Like the dress in the above photo and the pillows below. Wow.
The more that I read through her blog, I realized that she is not just like me. She’s not a wife or mom so far as I can tell, younger than I am, and a teacher in Boston. And it reminded me of why I need to NOT only read about people who fit into the same criteria as me. Her writing is passionate and interesting, which is how I want to write. Her stories are universal and charming, (read the one about her best friend’s recent wedding, and tell me you didn’t feel that way at your best friend’s wedding.) Her posts are often peppered with beautiful images, inspiring quotes, and just enough transparency to make you want to invite her over to your place for coffee. And she might as well bring along that Eiffel Tower pillow while she’s at it. I might have oogled her blog for the sewing alone, but I’m glad I read on.
Check her out at E Tells Tales here. And Elizabeth, thanks for inspiring me this week!!
Anyone have any good blogs that have inspired you recently? Please share in the comments so that we can check them out!

I have to say that this blog has been very inspiring of late! How I even found it I couldn't tell you, but I have been searching high and low for the Martha Stewart Anjou Pear paint that keeps being used and looking for things I can refurbish. :-) My husband contends that I can barely finish a scrapbook page but once I do it actually looks decent - so maybe I can become more crafty! LOL

That's an amazing compliment! I don't mean for my blog to be a trap, but as long as it's my ball and chain, why don't we make it yours too :)
Erin, you are a sweetheart!
I read this blog entry below recently and fell in love with this post about losing a loved one. The blogger is also a photographer.

I am a teacher-friend of Elizabeth's and I can vouch that she is even more lovely a person than her blog makes her out to be. Great story!
