5 Uses For Ikea Art Cards

A sweet friend of mine gave me this pack of art cards from Ikea with number photos on them! She said they made her think of me. How thoughtful is that? I love them. I was half afraid to use them for anything because I didn't want to mess them all up. Aren't they fun?

Of course, they are fun to send as cards and Ikea makes a frame that they perfectly fit in but I knew there were other creative options for these guys. So, I finally thought up some simple ways to use them around the house...

#1 - Number Labels - Cut out the individual #'s leaving room at the top for a hole punch, string them on twine (or ribbon of your choice), and hang them on a jar...

#2 - Bookmark - Cut out a row of three leaving room at the top for a hole punch, string twine through the hole, make a knot, and place in your current reading material...

#3 - Magnets - Cut out the number and glue onto cardstock. Then attach a magnet to the back and place it on your favorite magnetic surface...

#4 - Ornaments - Cut out the numbers leaving room at the top for a hole punch, string twine through the hole and tie. Hang them on your favorite little Christmas tree...

#5 - Blocks (my favorite) - You have seen Erin's fabulous family blocks here. That is where this idea came from. First, cut out your favorite numbers from the cards into squares slightly smaller than your block sides. Decoupage them right onto the surface with a coat on top for protection. Sand the corners and sides for a special touch. Then place them somewhere to be seen and admired daily...

So, I searched for these number cards on Ikea's website to share with you and had no luck. They may be in the store still but I'm just not sure.

What I did find were these Ikea art cards currently available on their website...
Door photos. LOVE it! These could be cute gift labels for a friend's housewarming package, a bookmark in a home decor book, etc. The teacher in me thought it would even be fun to have kids brainstorm ideas and/or write about what kind of house or business the door belongs to and what might go on behind that door. That could be a lot of fun! Oh, the possibilities are endless!

Check out these link parties for some amazingly creative ideas to spark your imagination!

Happy Tuesday!

Yay! I am so glad to see what you did with these. I knew it would be something awesome as always. I've actually been hoping each week to see the number cards appear in something!

IKEA has other designs too, at price points from 5 cards for $1 (which is what I think these cards were) to 5 for $5.

What great ideas! For any IKEA note card divided into small pictures, really. I love IKEA and their note cards do look great in frames and are fun to send too. Now I have a new purpose for them! I love your ideas anyway. You come up with great ones, Tiffany! :)
