My daughter's special day falls at the beginning of Spring and so kites seemed like the perfect theme for her third birthday party. I can't believe she will now be 5 at the end of this month. Seeing how little she is in these pictures makes me want to cry. Time seriously flies.
Her third birthday party took place at a park which meant I did not have to super clean my house! I kept everything very simple.
Bottled water and juice boxes to drink and a basic menu. We served marshmallows, strawberries, and cupcakes, of course!
I decorated the cupcakes with four different colors of icing and placed them on the table in a kite shape. I attached a wide wired ribbon flowing from the bottom to look like a kite string.
I found pink and white dotted plates and napkins at Target and placed a picture of the birthday girl on top!
The favors were a box of sidewalk chalk and a kite for each kid.
I ordered 3 pink balloons since the birthday girl was turning 3 and a special polka-dot one because it was cute.
I made a Happy Birthday banner out of patterned paper that I fell in love with at the scrapbook store.
I added a kite to the middle with a string that would blow in the wind.
The birthday girl was most excited about her pink cupcake.
I made a mini (8x8) scrapbook of her from the last year. I had it on the table for guests to look through.
The park was so great and easy. We just parked her presents by the fence and right in front the birthday banner.
And after presents, we had some kite flying fun. It was her first time to fly a kite.
The weather was perfect and who doesn't love flying a kite? I think the Moms and Dads had just as much fun as the kids during this part.
Thanks for stopping by! Come visit me tomorrow at kojo designs. I will be guest posting with a way to use up that "stash" of fabric & clothing you may be hoarding! See you there!
I will be joining these parties this week.
