By now you are familiar with the sweet little shop Pretty Little Studio. They have gorgeous and super fun vintage-y flashcards for every occasion. After receiving my Mini Animal ABC's in the mail, I was inspired to create something practical and fun for my little sweetheart.
I gathered some basic supplies, scrapbook paper, cork boards, and magnet strips.
I cut the cork board and paper to a size just slightly larger than the flashcards. Then I glued and mod-podged my cards, paper and cork board together. (With many of the flashcards less than $5.00 a set, I didn't have to feel too bad putting mod podge on them!)
I adhered the self-adhesive magnet strips to the back of the cork board...
...and stuck them on the fridge. Instant vintage magnet success! We are in the process of learning our ABC's around here, and this sweet little magnet set provides lots of incentive for my little one.
With the cork board backing and mod podge, they are sure to stand up to little fingers with the added strength. Have a table saw at your house? Use wood backing instead to create an even sturdier magnet set.
Doesn't that yellow paper just make those beautiful illustrations pop?
If you had these miniature flash cards, what would you make? I'll be linking to these parties this week. Hope to see you there!
Happy Thursday!
