What I Like About Wednesday: Silhouette Portraits

I am totally in love with silhouette portraits! Looking at my house, you wouldn't be able to tell since I haven't yet tried my hand at one, but these talented artists sure inspire me! As a mother, I would love to display my sweet children with these amazing featured silhouettes.

Check out this fabulous Etsy site by Aedriel™ Originals with this adorable plate:

This plate is perfect for display or dining! She has several other plates and colors for all occasions, but I thought this one would look great in my house (hint hint, hubby!).

Another amazing Etsy creation by happythought is this set of pictures found here:
How sweet is that?! This would definitely be a perfect addition in my house since we have both a son and daughter...plus I love the use of teal background (reminds me of Tiffany jewelry bags).

The Ohdeedoh team created this adorable sonogram silhouette found here complete with a tutorial:

I love the use of fabric and the sewing hoops. What a cute display for a new addition to a family!

To all of you mothers out there: we wish you a very happy Mother's Day this weekend! Go enjoy your children and be sure to do something just for you!

What I like about Wednesday

May is upon us, with that being said: Mother's day is around the corner, spring cleaning begins (which if you're like me you haven't really started yet), and the school year is wrapping up!

Fortunately, we have ladies in the world like Amy at Living Locurto . Amy Locurto is a designer and the owner of Atomic Egg and co-founder of I Heart Faces.
As one of her followers, I have been inspired by her works and feel fortunate to find that her art blog supplies easy access to her works with the push of a button and some card-stock. She regularly updates her blog with oh so cute free labels, cards, calendars, meal plans and other helpful stuff (personal use only of course).

For example, this is a cute (free) Mother's Day Card. Amy also has a note card and bookmark in that style.

I love, love this clever cover for Ziploc baggies. Too cute. (for Easter she had the cutest bunny patterns ever. I printed and made them with my niece...loved them!)

How easy would this be? Teacher Appreciation week is just around the corner. What a great idea.

Yeah, I may be to old for this, but I totally printed these out and immediately hung them in my now organized closet. I always lay my clothes out the night before, so thanks to Amy I can easily plan for the entire work week. Living Locurto is Living Easy!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out Patrice's project tomorrow!

What I Like Wednesday: Etsy

Who doesn't like Etsy, right? You can find anything and everything you could want on the site from some amazingly gifted people! If you are a crafter, artist, seamstress, etc. it is a great place to get inspiration. I just love browsing the shops and seeing what is out there.

Here is a small sampling of my favorites on Etsy right now...

1.) Melissa Frances Vintage Attic Treasures Boy Alphabet Flash Cards...

Can you imagine the possibilities with these cuties? Seriously. Oh, how I love them. You can find these flash cards here.

2.) Chrysanthemum Ring By MiaBeads...

I actually own a white one of these. I bought a hot pink one for my niece. I fell in love with it right away. It's the perfect flower ring. The packaging it comes in is even perfect. You can get the band in silver, antiqued brass, or gold and the flower comes in a variety of colors. She also makes other jewelry including gorgeous hair pins made with these flowers. You can find this beauty here.

3.) Ruffled Happy Little List Taker by KnittyBitties...

Do these not make you happy just looking at them? I can't imagine how fun it would be to make lists inside these little notepad holders. Oh, the ruffle and flower and fabric, all so perfect! I got a purse for my birthday from this shop and I love it! The quality is fantastic, the packaging adorable, and the style of everything in her shop is gorgeous! She has purses, list takers, mini wallets, and camera strap covers all in beautiful fabrics! You can visit this shop here.

So, when you get a spare moment, grab a cup of coffee and browse Etsy. You never know the treasures you will find.

Happy Wednesday!

What I Like Wednesday: MEllen Designs

Being from the Bluegrass State, spring time means three things to me: UK Basketball madness, Keeneland horse racing, and the derby. With all of these things to look forward to I, quickly and with A LOT of excitement, get into party planning mode anxiously awaiting Derby Day.

Can I also just say, I get a little OVER excited about personalized and girly stationary. That being said, as soon as I saw MEllen designs gorgeous Derby Day invites, I was really inspired!

Mary Ellen, creator of MEllen designs, has an eye for all things beautiful and creative for sure! You can check out all of her design ideas on her blog, Mostly MEllen, here. And, for all of you NOT from the Bluegrass state, where spring means something more than Derby, perhaps more like wedding and baby season, she has some wonderful custom invites and stationary for you as well! Check out MEllen Designs here.

Here are a few of my favorite MEllen designs below:

And just so you know, she'll do custom stationary for just about any occasion you can think of! Like this personal new favorite of mine below...

Okay, okay, I know. It was over for my hometown team awhile ago, but some of us in Kentucky bleed blue all year round, so just in case!

Be sure to stop by and visit Mary Ellen

at mostlymellen.blogspot.com if you get the chance and leave her a little comment
on something you like!

Be back tomorrow with a fun, re-invented piece of furniture I have been working on. So I hope to see you then!
